Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy
Responsible and ethical use of AI tools in manuscript preparation and publication.
The Metiledted: International Multidisciplinary Journal in Language, Education, and Culture recognizes the increasing role of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in academic writing and research. This policy outlines the responsible and ethical use of AI in manuscript preparation and publication.
01 Acceptable Use of AI Tools
Authors may use AI-based tools (such as language editing, translation, grammar checking, or formatting assistance) to improve the clarity and readability of their manuscripts. However, such tools must only be used as supportive instruments and not as a replacement for intellectual contribution.
Permitted uses include:
- Language and grammar correction
- Formatting assistance
- Reference organization
- Translation support (with human verification)
02 Prohibited Use of AI
The use of AI tools is strictly prohibited for:
- Generating research data, results, or findings
- Writing entire manuscripts or substantial parts of the manuscript without human authorship
- Fabricating or falsifying data, references, or citations
- Replacing intellectual contributions of authorship
AI must not be listed as an author under any circumstances.
03 Author Responsibility
Authors are fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, and integrity of their submitted work, including any content assisted by AI tools. Any use of AI must not compromise ethical standards or academic honesty.
04 Disclosure Requirement
If AI tools have been used in the preparation of a manuscript, authors must include a declaration in the submission stating:
- The name of the AI tool used
- The purpose of its use
- Confirmation that all content has been reviewed and verified by the author(s)
Example statement:
“The authors used AI-based tools solely for language editing and formatting assistance. All intellectual content, analysis, and conclusions are the sole responsibility of the authors.”
05 Editorial Evaluation
The editorial board reserves the right to evaluate manuscripts for inappropriate or undisclosed use of AI tools. Manuscripts found to violate this policy may be rejected or retracted.
06 Ethical Compliance
The journal promotes transparency and integrity in research publication. Any misuse of AI that leads to plagiarism, data fabrication, or misrepresentation of research will be treated as ethical misconduct.
